Forest Bathing
In Switzerland, the forest is dense. Deep green and softly hushed. You walk slowly, and the silence feels structured, like a cathedral built by trees.
In the Seychelles, the forest breathes wider. Light filters through palms in shifting layers. The air is warm, the earth underfoot loose and fragrant. Silence hums - more ocean than stone.
Two places, worlds apart. And yet, the same stillness lives in both.
This, I have learned, is the essence of forest bathing: not a ritual of doing, but of being. You don’t walk into the woods to achieve calm, you go to remember it. To mirror what the trees already know : That life doesn’t rush, that growth is mostly quiet, and that beauty doesn’t always demand attention - it holds it.
The essence of LAYESION is rooted in this feeling - In Switzerland’s structured silence, and the Seychelles’ lush surrender. Both landscapes have shaped me. Both taught me to look closely, to move slowly, and to let awe guide the hand.
Is it important to me that our pieces carry that memory - of branches overhead, the weight of light on skin, the stillness that expands when you give it space.
Sometimes luxury is not about adding more. Sometimes it’s about coming back to where it all slows down.
